Suzanne Marie (Elliott) Terrell was born May 7, 1936, to her parents, Glenn and Louise Elliott in Gas City, Indiana. She grew up on the family farm, and later attended Mississinewa High School, where she participated in marching band. Following high school, she took classes in business college. She married Clifford Eldon Terrell in Marion, Indiana, on Dec. 28, 1958. They then moved to Valparaiso, Indiana, while he studied engineering. Shortly after, they relocated to Kokomo, Indiana, where they built their own home.
